Those luminous African souls, faces so thick and warm they coax passion filled tears in a place so deep it cannot be seen. Hearts of gold and steel, Pure, meek, innocent and serene, Radiant as the incandescent bronze plateaus that shimmered around us in the African winter’s sun. Eyes that through dark impossible depth, held no fear. Only their souls can summon more strength, Enough to throw us to a place of humble silence. |

Hey I’m Cassie and I’m in year 11. I was lucky enough to have the opportunity of going to Africa this year and helping some people in need. I went in a group of 22 people. The youngest was 15 and the eldest was 72. One of my best friends Sheldon from year 10 came too. What we did was to build a day care centre and a classroom in a little village named Manyana in Botswana. My dad came with me but the house we stayed in was nearly 30minutes apart. The people were very friendly and so excited to meet us. Even the kids were excited and they gave us a warm welcome of singing. |
